The new interactive tour at the “Tholos” virtual reality theater takes visitors back in time…

Visit the dome-shaped Virtual Reality "Theatre" of Hellenic Cosmos and travel through time, in Athens of the 5th century B.C., the period named as a golden age of Athenian culture under the leadership of Pericles, where you will have the chance to see all the temples and statues of this rich in historical sites area, which is of much archaeological and cultural significance, the Athenian Acropolis.

The show is interactive, controlled by the spectator, and not a passive experience. It is a unique experience of immersion into the virtual world, which is characterized by immediate response, flexibility, originality and liveliness.

The spectator takes a tour of the monuments that are still standing today, like the Propylaia, Nike Temple, the Parthenon, Erectheion, but also through the buildings that visitors aren’t able to view today like Arrephorion, Sanctuary of Zeus Polieus, Sanctuary of Artemis Brauronia, Chalkotheke e.t.c.

The restoration of the colours on the digital models of Arcropolis is based on the descriptions of foreign architects of the 19th century. The accuracy of the historical details is validated by the esteemed Archaeology professor of the University of Athens Panos Valavanis. A whole team of experts like painters, 3D modelers, programmers e.t.c. worked on this project which was later adapted to the unique technological infastructure of the “Tholos” virtual reality theater.

The “Interactive Tour of the Acropolis of Athens” offers a unique opportunity to enrich the traditional experience of the visitor by the introduction of augmented reality components *.
